Spending Hours Drafting a CV/ Resume?

It is well-known, that when it comes to looking for a job, one has to create a CV and send it to recruiters. In some sources a CV is called a “marketing document/ tool which gives you an opportunity to sell your abilities to employees” (see external links below). Being picked for an interview depends on one’s CV/ Resume’s quality as well. Seems like we should spend hours for creating that… Are there any ways which will let us do it for a few minutes? Here will be represented some tools which can make creating a CV easier.

  • Europass: CVs by Europass are widely accepted by most of educational institutions in Europe (applying for scholarships, educational programs/courses, etc.). One will have to create a profile, enter the necessary information, and then create a CV. The new version of Europass has three CV templates (see below).

  • Google Docs. Templates by Google Docs are recommended by HRs. These are simple and well-organized. You must have a Google account to have access to Google templates. Now, let’s look at these.

I would recommend to download them in PDF format in order to get the file in the exact same shape.

  • MS Word offers CV templates as well. If you are a Windows 7 (or an older version) user, don’t worry, you can create a CV using Microsoft’s Website. Here are some templates my MS Word:
  • Canva. In my opinion, templates by Canva can be useful for graphic designers, artists, and for those who are looking for a job in similar fields, since they are pretty colorful. It is recommended to abstain using bright colors for creating a resume if you are not an artist, designer, etc… The safest resume color scheme is considered using white, black, and a third (I’d prefer to use blue or gray) color. Let’s have a look at some templates by Canva.

Besides the tools mentioned above, there are plenty of other resume builders (resumecoach, novoresume, zety, resumegenious, etc.) as well. Have you ever created a CV using any templates? If yes, which one do you prefer?

Edit PDF Files for Free

Nowadays Portable Document Format (PDF) suggested by Adobe Systems is widely used. Sometimes, we would like to edit PDF documents, but unfortunately, it is impossible to do that for free since Acrobat Pro[1] subscription costs some amount of money. So, let’s get familiar with a tool which gives an opportunity to create and edit PDF files for free.

The tool mentioned above is called Sejda. I have used that plenty of times for creating and editing PDF documents. These are not the one and only services provided by Sejda: you can sign a PDF file, convert it to Word, Excel, PPT, Text, JPG, and vice versa, too. There is good news for the ones who use HTML as well: you may convert from HTML to PDF. Besides the mentioned ones, Sejda includes plenty of other services as well.

Depending on your convenience, you can use the web or desktop version of Sejda. As I mentioned above, the tool suggests a free plan. In this case, your signup is not required. Of course, like many other services, the free online sessions have their limitations regarding the time and the quantity of the documents. One can have unlimited web service or desktop access with weekly, monthly, or annually plans (see external links below). Now, let’s see what Sejda’s interface looks like and what kind of services it provides.

Sejda’s Services

By the way, if you check out Sejda’s link given below, you will realize it gives an instruction how to use its services. I’d like to mention that the tool is available not only in English, but in other languages, too.

There are plenty of online services for editing PDF files as well. Which one do you prefer? You may comment below.
